Not the Hero is a pixel-art story adventure told through the supporting characters in a fantasy quest. You take the roles of Villager #4 in the market square, a shopkeeper near the east gate, Gurt the bridge boss, the princess, and the dark lord. Each chapter changes the action, moving between conversations and real-time arena combat. Dialogue choices open different branches, although the hero still comes out on top.
